Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Depart from Marrakech, crossing the stunning Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. Stop for a guided tour at the UNESCO World Heritage site Ait Ben Haddou. Continue to Ouarzazate, where you’ll explore the Taourirt Kasbah. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges
After breakfast, we head through Skoura’s palm groves, visiting the famous Kasbah Amridil. Journey to the Dades Valley, renowned for its remarkable rock formations. The day ends at the majestic Todra Gorges, where you can enjoy a hike. Overnight near the gorges.
Day 3: Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
Continue through the desert, stopping in Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops. Arrive in Merzouga, and embark on a thrilling camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes, experiencing a magical sunset. Overnight in a luxury desert camp, enjoying dinner under the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga – Alnif – Ouarzazate
After watching the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, return by camel to Merzouga for breakfast. Travel through Alnif, taking in the unique desert landscapes, and reach Ouarzazate for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Tizi n’Tichka – Marrakech
We begin our journey back to Marrakech, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass once again. Arrival in Marrakech by late evening.
A wonderful and well-organized tour. I enjoyed every bit of it, from the majestic Atlas Mountains to the ancient kasbahs and the peaceful desert night. The hospitality in the desert camp was excellent, and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely return to Morocco for more!
